What is AAO?

The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) evolved as part of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology (AAOO), which was founded in 1896. The original focus was to provide continuing education to eye, ear, nose and throat doctors. The American Academy of Ophthalmology was incorporated as an independent organization in 1979 when the AAOO was divided into separate academies for each specialty.

When is AAO Annual Meeting?

The  AAO Annual Meeting is held annually in the fall with the next meeting (AAO 2018) starting Saturday, October 27, 2018, running through Tuesday, October 30, 2018.

Where is AAO Annual Meeting?

AAO is held in different areas throughout the US. In 2018 AAO is being held in Chicago at McCormick Place.
